Capabilities for COVID-19 Response
This letter is to inform you that Acadian Ambulance Service, Inc stands ready to respond to the EMS needs related to the COVID-19 virus outbreak. Specifically, Acadian has taken the following actions: •
A screening-transport process was developed based on CDC guidance for Emergency Medical Services. This process is used by our Communications Center to alert crews, medical direction, & the safety department of a possible COVID-19 patient & discuss transport options in real time.
Developed an enhanced donning/doffing process for CDC recommended PPE. Developed a tracking & monitoring process in the event of an exposure.
Procured an adequate supply of PPE for near term use.
Procured an adequate supply of disinfectant for decontamination of the unit after a possible COVID-19 transport.
In addition to the above actions, our management teams, safety teams, & medical direction are staying abreast of developing conditions through participation in various international, federal, & statewide panels, as well as multiple task force groups in our coverage areas. We continue to meet daily to discuss processes & stay in front of any variations to this situation. As with any new challenge, changes are inevitable; however, I feel confident in Acadian’s capabilities to remain responsive, fluid & adaptable. Please contact your local management or business development team member if you have any questions or concerns.
Kindest Regards,
Dr. Chuck Burnell Chief Medical Officer Acadian Companies www.acadian.com
